The MVBC02 module is the communication interface between the on-board unit of the ETCS system (hereafter OBU) and the vehicle controllers. The OBU unit sends to the MVBC02 module, via the MVB communication line, information about the immediate and permitted speed of the vehicle. This information is evaluated in real time and possible action is taken in the control circuits of the vehicle and/or the speed regulator, in which the entered speed is automatically limited to the permitted speed.
From the speed regulator, the MVBC02 module sends back to the OBU unit information about the entered speed value. This information is used to display on the DMI OBU display.
The communication converter module with the interface for controlling the automatic speed regulator is made in the form of an aluminum anodized cassette with a width of 28HP type "HF frame" from the manufacturer Schroff. Inside the module there is a power supply with a filter, a control and communication interface RS422/485, CAN and MVB.
Furthermore, an interface enabling control of the speed controller. This forms the analog part of the speed comparator and the control part with digital inputs and electronic switches. The module itself does not contain any controls. The configuration is given by the hardware directly from the factory, or programmatically using constants. Indication of operating states is provided by means of LEDs on the front panel of the module.
