DC - DC Voltage converter 48V/24V 10A

On electric traction railway vehicles, the voltage of the on-board network is mainly 48V. Devices that are installed and used in these vehicles often require a 24V supply voltage. The voltage converter 48V to 24V with type designation SM - 1 helps in solving this problem. This is a device that is able to convert the voltage of the 48V on-board network into a voltage used, for example, to power wipers or reflectors and other devices operating with a 24V supply voltage, the total maximum current consumption of which is up to 10A.
The main features of the SM-1 inverter include a number of protective elements. They not only ensure the correct functioning of the powered device, but also their protection in the event of a malfunction. Among these protective elements, in particular, resistance against reverse polarity of the supply voltage, overvoltage protection of the input voltage, short-circuit resistance and protection of the connected equipment in case of inverter failure. In the event of an inverter failure, the built-in fuse is interrupted and the connected device and the inverter are automatically disconnected from the supply voltage.
Other functions of the converter include indication of the operating status using LEDs. This indicates the operating limits of the output voltage. Furthermore, the converter is equipped with an auxiliary relay switching contact. This makes it possible to signal the operating status to the operator or to the higher-level control system.
The voltage converter SM-1 is designed according to the ČSN EN 50 155 standard.
